Asia Airfreight Terminal Celebrates Double Win at Supply Chain Asia Awards 2025

Hong Kong, 13 November 2025 - Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT), a subsidiary of SATS Ltd, has secured a double win at the prestigious Supply Chain Asia Awards 2025. The company’s CEO, Mr. Mike Chew, was named Supply Chain CEO (Solutions) of the Year, an achievement that underscores his leadership in driving innovation - reflected in AAT’s own Supply Chain Innovator of the Year (ESG).

Leveraging over 30 years of aviation experience, Chew has spearheaded the company's post-pandemic recovery and future-focused growth by embedding a forward-thinking ESG strategy while accelerating the development of digital and service solutions for the air cargo industry.

Driving Tangible ESG Impact

AAT’s ESG strategy is at the heart of its operations, driving measurable climate action and resource efficiency. Since 2018, the company has achieved a 33% reduction in carbon emissions, driven by the ongoing electrification of its vehicle fleet and supported by infrastructure upgrades, with full electrification targeted for 2030. Further decarbonisation is underway through the planned adoption of HVO fuel by end-2025, while the conversion of cold-storage chillers to low-GWP refrigerants and facility-wide LED lighting upgrades have generated significant carbon savings. AAT’s commitment to a circular economy is demonstrated through initiatives such as upcycling retired uniforms and utilising recycled cargo sheets, which have contributed to a 27% reduction in waste since 2018. Employee engagement remains strong with over 28,000 training hours delivered in 2024 and active participation in sustainability workshops and community initiatives. Governance excellence is further underscored by AAT’s pursuit of IATA’s IEnvA certification targeted for early 2026.

Pioneering Innovative and Customer-Centric Solutions

Chew's leadership has also accelerated AAT's digital and service innovation. Over the past years, AAT has launched the next-generation COSYS+ cargo management system, upgraded its truck control systems, pioneered the deployment of autonomous electric tractors, and integrated AI vision for enhanced safety and security. The company has also expanded its intermodal and specialised service network, including the sea-air intermodal with AAT Dongguan upstream cargo facility at HKIA Logistics Park, the Air-Land Fresh Lane cold chain solutions for perishables, AAS ChinaLink for cross-border logistics and AAS SecurePlus for value-added logistics services. By fostering a culture of collaboration and integrity, he has inspired his teams to excel, reinforcing AAT’s leadership position in the industry.

Chew commented, “These achievements would not have been possible without the collective efforts of our passionate and talented team and the strong partnerships we have built across the industry. We remain committed to driving innovation and sustainability, and to supporting Hong Kong’s vision for a greener, smarter logistics sector.”
