AAT Welcomes Policy Address 2025 Initiatives Strengthening Hong Kong's Global Cargo Leadership

Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT), a subsidiary of SATS Ltd and a major air cargo terminal operator at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), welcomes and supports the 2025 Policy Address delivered by the Chief Executive of the HKSAR. The strategic measures outlined to consolidate Hong Kong's status as a leading international aviation hub and shipping centre present a powerful vision for the future, reinforcing the critical role of the logistics ecosystem that AAT is proud to be a part of.

The Policy Address highlights several key initiatives, including accelerating the expansion of HKIA’s aviation network through new air service agreements and expanding traffic rights with key growth regions. It also emphasizes enhancing intermodal connectivity across the Greater Bay Area with projects such as the logistics park in Dongguan. These developments are poised to generate new cargo streams and strengthen flight connectivity, directly benefiting all stakeholders in the airport community. AAT is positioned to support airlines and freight forwarders in capturing these new opportunities with our efficient and reliable handling services.

"The 2025 Policy Address provides a forward-looking framework that aligns perfectly with AAT's mission to drive excellence in air cargo handling," said Mike Chew, CEO of AAT. "The commitment to expanding the aviation network and enhancing multi-modal transport links is a powerful endorsement of our industry's strategic value. These policies will unlock new growth potential, and AAT is committed to investing in our capabilities and working closely with the government, Airport Authority Hong Kong, our airline customers, and all business partners to ensure Hong Kong's air cargo sector continues to thrive and maintain its global leadership."

As HKIA enters a new era of growth with the Three-Runway System fully operational, AAT looks forward to playing an integral role in supporting this expansion. We are confident that the collective efforts of the government and the airport community will further cement Hong Kong's position as the world's premier international aviation hub.
