AAT wins the Most Effective Carbon Reduction Award Bronze Award

Asia Airfreight Terminal Co Ltd (AAT) received the Most Effective Carbon Reduction Bronze Award in the Hong Kong International Airport Carbon Reduction Programme. The ceremony was hosted by Dr Marvin Cheung, Chairman of the AAHK, and officiated by Eva Cheng, Secretary for Transport and Housing, together with Stanley Hui, Chief Executive Officer of AAHK on 8 May 2012.

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) and 40 airport business partners pledged to make Hong Kong International Airport the world’s greenest airport. The airport also announced it achieved a 10% carbon reduction in 2011, which is on track with its goal to lower 25% of HKIA’s carbon emission by 2015 from 2008 levels.

Mr. Chan Yee Lin, General Manager of AAT received the award from Mr. Stanley Hui and expressed his gratitude, “AAT is alongside HKIA in recognising the importance of conducting businesses in a “green” manner. It is through such responsible action and transparency that truly creates sustainability for the aviation industry.”

It has also achieved Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) 18001 and the Technology Asset Protection Association (TAPA) Class A Certification in recognition of its continuous effort to improve its management systems for employees’ health and safety, and cargo security respectively.
