Hong Kong, 3 April 2025 - Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT), a subsidiary of SATS Ltd, has been awarded the Outstanding Sustainable Enterprise Award (Non-Listed Companies) at the ESG Green Development and Carbon Neutrality Awards 2024 organized by AM730. AAT stands out as the sole airfreight logistics service provider honored with this award, recognising its dedication in integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles across its operations.

The awards, judged by a panel of sustainability experts, highlight the impactful ESG initiatives aligned with Hong Kong’s 2050 carbon neutrality vision. The ceremony on 25 March 2025 was attended by industry leaders and sustainability pioneers and was officiated by Mr. Tse Chin Wan, BBS, JP, Secretary for Environment and Ecology of the HKSAR Government, who commended awardees for driving systemic change.

Mike Chew, CEO of AAT, dedicated the award to employees and partners, stating, “This accolade reflects our collective resolution to transform air cargo logistics sustainably. From decarbonization milestones such as the recent deployment of an autonomous electric tractor fleet, to workforce development and ethical business practices, we have integrated ESG considerations into every decision we make. AAT's dedication to sustainability is demonstrated through initiatives such as transitioning to electric vehicles, installing charging stations, adopting sustainable features in its facilities, etc., and has reduced carbon emissions by a remarkable 33% from a 2018 baseline. AAT reaffirms its long-term commitment by signing the HKIA 2050 Net Zero Carbon pledge and participating in the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Environmental Assessments.

Beyond environmental initiatives, AAT remains committed to nurturing its workforce and fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture. In the 2024, AAT delivered 28,685 hours of employees training covering professional development, sustainability awareness, work safety and health, social inclusion, anti-bribery protocols, and more.  AAT also upholds the highest standard of business ethics in corporate governance. Recognised with the “Gold Privacy-Friendly Enterprise Award 2023,” AAT continues to strengthen supply chain responsibility, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable business practices.
